How quickly can you look at a leak?
The listing is open 24 hours. For Slough, Langley and the nearest West London streets we aim to get there the same day or the next morning when water is coming in. Further out, we give you a real time rather than a promise we cannot keep. A proper repair follows any temporary stop.
Which areas do you cover?
Based in Slough, SL3. Berkshire towns including Windsor, Eton, Datchet, Maidenhead, Burnham and, when the diary allows, Reading and Bracknell. West London including Uxbridge, Hayes, Hillingdon, West Drayton, Southall, Hounslow, Ealing and Staines. If you are just outside the list, call — the Google profile says London and nearby areas, and we would rather say yes or no than hide the boundary.
Felt, GRP or EPDM — which flat roof should I have?
It depends on the shape. GRP handles awkward extensions and roof windows well. EPDM is excellent on a simple roof where one sheet will lie flat. Felt still suits many garages. We recommend one and say why. We do not fit the same system on every roof out of habit.
Will you tell me if I do not need a new roof?
Yes. A slipped tile, a failed flashing or a gutter falling the wrong way should be priced as that. A new roof is for when the covering has failed. Recommending the smaller job is how a roofer gets called back.
Who turns up?
You deal with Harrison Farren, director of Farren's Roofing and Building Ltd, company number 16788136. He is the person who looks and the person who prices. The company was incorporated in October 2025. We will not invent a twenty-year history to sound bigger.
Are you insured, and is the work guaranteed?
Ask for insurance documents before we start and we will send them. On agreed re-roofs and new flat roofs the workmanship guarantee is written on the quote. The length is on that paperwork. We do not print a number on the website that the quote then quietly changes.
Do you only do roofing?
Roofing is the main trade. We also do the building that belongs with it: repointing, making good, porches, small brickwork. We are not the contractor for a whole-house build. The registered name is Farren's Roofing and Building Ltd for that reason.
